Job Title: Child Development Specialist
">The role of a Child Development Specialist involves providing therapy and support to children and families through the Key Worker model. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, the successful candidate will develop and implement individualised plans tailored to each child's unique needs.
">This position requires collaboration with therapists from various disciplines, coordination of support, and delivery of evidence-based interventions to address children's goals across all areas of development.
">The responsibilities of a Child Development Specialist include:
">Working with families and children to develop and prioritise their goals using a routines-based approach.
">Providing support to families reflecting a strengths-based and family-centred approach, focusing on improving child and family quality of life.
">Delivering evidence-based support to address children's goals in communication, play, mobility, feeding, self-care activities, sensory processing, relationships with peers, feelings and behaviours, problem-solving and learning.
">Developing the capacity of adults supporting the child.
">Coordinating support required from other disciplines.
">Supporting inclusion and participation of children within their families and communities.
">Providing consultative support to other Key Workers specific to your discipline/background.

In addition to these responsibilities, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to supplement this role with a clinical position as a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner. This role involves working with allied health practitioners, support workers, and family members to achieve optimal outcomes for clients.
">The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people. They will also have a strong understanding of child development principles and practices, as well as experience working with children and families in a supportive capacity.
