Job Title: Theatre Operations Manager

We are seeking a skilled Theatre Operations Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing the Theatre Orderly Services, ensuring high standards of patient care in a safe environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the transfer, transport and care of patients and equipment as directed by the Clinical Command Centre and Nursing Staff.
  • Assist in the cleaning of the department in accordance with Duty Statements and Hospital cleaning protocols and procedures.
  • Manage all elements of the Theatre Orderly service to meet patient and hospital needs.
  • Liaise with Perioperative Flow Manager and Coordinators to resolve issues.
  • Reorganise level of Theatre Orderly availability in the event of sick leave, annual leave and unforeseen events and to maintain productivity target.
  • Manage the Theatre Orderly team on a daily basis to ensure service provision.
  • Ensure that Theatre Orderlies are completing assigned tasks on time.
  • Ensure Theatre Orderlies are maintaining a high standard of cleanliness in their work area.
  • Ensures Theatre Orderlies are working according to their job descriptions.
  • Informs Manager of any irregularities.
  • Ensures standard of service is received.
  • In conjunction with the Manager is responsible for the monitoring and performance management of Theatre Orderlies within the Operating Suite.
  • In conjunction with the Manager performs performance appraisals of Theatre Orderlies.
  • Identify Theatre Orderlies training needs and action.
  • Follow up any issues as described by medical specialists and fellow caregivers.
  • Meets regularly (formal and informal) to provide opportunity for feedback to and from Theatre Orderlies.
  • Develop and implement strategies and actions to address identified needs.
  • Participate as a valued team member promoting and contributing to a supportive team environment.

Requirements:

  • A recent experience in an acute hospital setting, in a similar role.
  • Experience in a perioperative environment.
  • Attainment of PCA Certificate III in Health Support Services.
  • Able to demonstrate a working knowledge of safe basic manual handling principles.
  • Able to physically undertake duties including pushing, pulling and lifting activities.
  • Well-developed verbal and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build relationships.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and demonstrate good organisational skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service.
