Substance Misuse Counsellor

We are seeking a skilled and empathetic professional to provide trauma-informed support to individuals and their families affected by substance misuse.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough assessments and deliver a range of interventions to help clients change harmful behaviours associated with substance use.
  • Enhance clients' capacity to effectively manage problems linked to substance misuse and promote recovery.

Requirements

  • Postgraduate qualification in a relevant health or welfare field.
  • Certificate IV in Substance Use or completion of the Substance Use Core Competencies (or willingness to complete within first 24 months).
  • Proven experience in providing substance use assessment/counselling services.
  • Previous experience working with substance use or dual-diagnosis clients.
  • Familiarity with counselling theories and therapeutic approaches to assist clients with substance-related goals.
