Bridgehaven Service

Located on Wurundjeri lands in Preston, Bridgehaven provides residential rehabilitation for women affected by substance misuse.

The service has 17 bedrooms with shared bathroom facilities. Participants usually stay for four months, with options for supported accommodation afterwards.

Role Requirements

We are seeking a proactive Support Worker to provide supervision, support, and crisis intervention to women participants at Bridgehaven.

This role involves:

  • Ensuring participant safety and well-being by managing dynamics and providing a positive environment.
  • Inducting new participants into the Bridgehaven program for a positive first experience.
  • Responding to resident enquiries and escalating as required.
  • Participating in daily handovers and liaising with other staff for effective communication.
  • Providing practical support to enhance living skills.
  • Assisting with medication administration and scheduling appointments.
  • Identifying and responding to potential harm; informing line managers promptly.
  • Facilitating group activities and undertaking administrative tasks efficiently.

Qualifications and Experience

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A current AOD Skillset qualification or commitment to gain within 12 months.
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • A Victoria Working with Children check.
  • A current First Aid certificate.
  • A valid Victoria Driver license.
