About the Role

The Transmission Technical Director will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth, developing market strategies, and ensuring successful project delivery for AtkinsRéalis. This senior leadership position requires a highly experienced professional to lead the team and collaborate closely with global market leads.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Relationship Management: Establish and maintain trusted relationships with Transmission and Distribution (T&D) clients, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.
  • Health and Safety Leadership: Drive best practices and a professional approach to Health and Safety and CDM in the T&D market, ensuring a safe working environment for all stakeholders.
  • Market Strategy and Execution: Contribute to the overall market strategy and execute the annual business plan, identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Risk Management: Identify and manage portfolio risks, escalating and reporting key decisions to the CEO as necessary.
  • Team Leadership: Oversee the performance of Project Managers and Project Directors, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Financial Performance: Manage financial performance of projects in your portfolio, including P&L accountability, to ensure delivery of market revenue, profit, and practice demand.
  • Business Development: Lead and own the market proposition and thought leadership, working closely with Win Work teams to create a sustainable pipeline of work.
  • Staff Management: Provide leadership, management, and engineering/technical guidance to the T&D team and its staff, directing key staff recruitment, resourcing, and development initiatives.
  • Market Innovation: Assess the market and support innovation of services and technical approaches to build a robust and resilient market-facing organization.
Requirements
  • Leadership and Management: Excellent communication, collaboration, team-working, and influencing skills, with experience of leading high-performing teams.
  • Financial and Commercial Management: Highly experienced in financial and commercial management for large and complex portfolios of projects.
  • Negotiation and Dispute Resolution: Experience of successful negotiation and dispute resolution, with a strong understanding of contractual, commercial, and project delivery knowledge.
  • Leadership and Management Background: A well-rounded leadership and management background, with demonstrable experience of project portfolio management.
  • Education and Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications or an equivalent, with relevant professional accreditations.
