About the Opportunity


An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Alfred Health Physiotherapy team as the Senior Clinician Physiotherapist – Chronic Thromboembolic Pulmonary Hypertension (CTEPH) service.


As a senior member of the Respiratory Physiotherapy stream, you will provide leadership and specialist physiotherapy service to inpatients and outpatients under the CTEPH service, including optimising pre and post-operative rehabilitation. You will work closely with the service leads (medical and surgical) of the CTEPH service to provide a responsive service with excellent outcomes by international benchmarking standards.


This is a fixed-term part-time position available from January 2025 to mid-December 2025, covering parental leave. The successful candidate will work 40 hours per fortnight, preferably on Monday and Tuesday afternoons, and Wednesday all day. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop a national multi-disciplinary program for the assessment and support of patients with CTEPH undergoing pulmonary endarterectomy.

Your Role


You will be responsible for:



  • Providing specialist physiotherapy service to inpatients and outpatients under the CTEPH service;
  • Optimising pre and post-operative rehabilitation for patients with CTEPH;
  • Working closely with medical and surgical service leads to ensure a responsive service with excellent outcomes;
  • Contributing to the development of a national multi-disciplinary program for CTEPH; and
  • Supervising and supporting staff, undergraduate students, and promoting a culture of excellence within the Respiratory Physiotherapy stream.

Your Skills and Experience


To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:



  • Specialist physiotherapy knowledge and skills related to respiratory patient cohorts;
  • Leadership capabilities, including excellent time management, high-level communication skills, and the ability to foster teamwork and resilience;
  • A proven track record of delivering high-quality physiotherapy services, particularly in chronic disease management and pulmonary hypertension;
  • Familiarity with quality improvement principles and evidence-based practice; and
  • Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills.
