Job Summary

The Senior Advisor - Environment is a key role within our organization, responsible for driving environmental sustainability and accelerating regulatory approvals. This position plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with environmental legislation and supporting the design, construction, and operation of assets in alignment with our strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Approvals and Compliance
    • Develop and deliver environmental approvals documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
    • Ensure environmental compliance during asset handover, verifying that all necessary approvals are in place.
  • Strategy and Governance
    • Build and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.
    • Support research portfolios with guidance and technical input, driving innovation and best practices.
    • Implement QA/QC processes on documentation, ensuring high-quality outputs.
  • Asset Planning and Operations
    • Provide technical guidance on environmental risks during asset acquisition, ensuring informed decision-making.
    • Ensure environmental considerations are integrated into business decisions, driving sustainable outcomes.
    • Develop technical advice and support for operations, optimizing asset performance.
  • Leadership and Culture
    • Promote a culture of safety, customer service, and productivity, driving business excellence.
    • Foster a team climate of openness and trust, encouraging collaboration and knowledge sharing.
    • Engage in mentoring and development activities, supporting the growth and development of team members.
  • Ethics and Compliance
    • Comply with relevant legislation, regulatory requirements, and corporate policies, ensuring adherence to industry standards.
    • Uphold the organization's Code of Conduct and other standards, demonstrating integrity and professionalism.
Essential Criteria
  • Degree in a relevant field, such as environmental science or a related discipline.
  • Considerable experience in environmental processes and geographic information systems, with a strong understanding of regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental approvals and compliance, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical context.
Desirable Criteria
  • Knowledge of the water industry in Australia, specifically in wastewater, with a strong understanding of industry trends and best practices.
  • Familiarity with the organization's environmental management principles and processes, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical context.
Pre-Employment Requirements
  • Full working rights within Australia.
  • Current or willing to obtain National Police Clearance.
  • Willing to undergo drug and alcohol screening if successful.
