We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Environmental Approvals Consultant to join our team at BMT Group Ltd - Engineering Consultants. As a key member of our environmental consulting team, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and guidance on environmental approvals and assessments.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic and statutory environmental advice to clients in a variety of sectors, with a focus on coastal and maritime infrastructure works.
- Build upon existing and develop new client relationships to further the APAC environment business.
- Provide technical advice, leadership, and mentoring within the national BMT environment team.
- Liaise with potential and current clients for the purposes of work generation, service delivery, and business development.
- Perform high-quality and professional technical work requiring a high degree of independence and judgement.
- Serve as a technical specialist in the areas of environmental approvals, environmental assessment, and project management.
- Give technical and business advice to management and business delivery teams.
- Supervise and review the work of external consultants and team members.
- Share knowledge and act as a mentor within their area of expertise or across the business.
- Review, prepare, and submit proposals/tenders.
- Project manage a range of projects to scope and within time, cost, and quality requirements.
- Contribute to thought leadership activities through their work and by regularly authoring papers, presenting at events, seminars, and conferences.
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Planning, Engineering, or other relevant area of study.
- More than 7 years' experience post-graduation.
- Demonstrated experience in State environmental approvals regime and/or Commonwealth environmental approvals regime.
- Willingness to learn new environmental approvals regimes.
- Demonstrated experience in undertaking environmental assessments.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong technical background in environmental consulting.
- Demonstrated business development skills.
