We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Environmental Advisor to join our team at the Isaac Plains Complex. This role will be responsible for providing environmental support to the operation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Environmental Compliance: Maintain business-wide standards for environmental approvals and compliance documentation, ensuring timely submission of reports and adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Technical Expertise: Provide technical environmental approvals and compliance advice to project teams, ensuring that all environmental aspects are considered in project planning and execution.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Ensure effective interaction with government, community, and other stakeholders to satisfy environmental approval and compliance processes.
- Environmental Management: Develop, update, and implement site-based management plans, ensuring compliance with the business Environmental Management System.
- Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and submit relevant environmental reports, analyzing data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Incident Investigation: Conduct environmental incident investigations, implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Sampling and Monitoring: Conduct sampling activities, ensuring all record keeping is compliant and complete.
- Contractor Management: Coordinate and supervise environmental monitoring contractors, ensuring that all work is completed to the required standard.
Requirements:
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role or within other heavy industry roles.
- Knowledge: A solid knowledge of Queensland and Commonwealth environmental legislation and compliance processes.
- Skills: Advanced conflict resolution and negotiation skills, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to adapt to changing business needs.
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in science or a related field.
