Job Summary

The Senior Environmental Officer will play a key role in supporting all projects and project teams at Zenergy. This is an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Specialist to contribute to the company's environmental standards and work closely with clients, stakeholders, and project teams to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and update the company's environmental management system to ensure compliance with ISO standards.
  • Develop and approve Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMPs) for projects, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including NSW EPA standards.
  • Liaise with client environmental representatives, key stakeholders, and community members to address environmental concerns and ensure effective communication.
  • Create subplans and coordinate with specialist consultants as needed, including obtaining necessary environmental permits and licenses.
  • Conduct regular environmental reviews and inspections to ensure compliance with contract specifications and audits.
  • Maintain company legislative and statutory compliance and compile internal and statutory reports.
  • Coordinate environmental incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively.
  • Participate in site establishment and conduct associated audits, with a focus on sustainability and environmental impact minimization.
  • Provide technical and specialist environmental advice regarding implementation of environmental assessments, legislation, compliance, and management during all project phases.
  • Manage environmental monitoring, data collection, and reporting or coordination of external consultants and contractors as required.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders on matters relating to environmental activities for the business.
  • Respond to unplanned environmental issues through short-term works, variations to existing programs, and incident response.
