Key Responsibilities
- Assess claims documentation, insurance policies, client directives, and related records to ascertain coverage eligibility.
- Conduct thorough investigations by interviewing claimants and witnesses, gathering official documentation, inspecting damages, and verifying claim details against available evidence.
- Establish and adjust loss reserves as new information arises.
- Compile reports by gathering and summarizing necessary information for clients, local and federal authorities, and Crawford & Company in accordance with Service Level Agreements.
- Resolve claims by evaluating the insurance provider's liability, adhering to client instructions, and following required authority levels, which includes making offers to claimants, issuing settlement payments, filing with regulatory bodies, managing salvage, and pursuing subrogation when warranted.
- Manage claim expenses effectively.
- Maintain an expected caseload efficiently.
- Recommend legal action when deemed necessary.
- Present evidence during legal proceedings, producing reports and documentation as required.
- Uphold the company's reputation and the integrity of insurance products by adhering to applicable federal and state regulations and service standards.
- Enhance professional and technical expertise through ongoing education.
- Engage in business development by reaching out to local enterprises to foster new business opportunities or sustain existing relationships.
- Mentor less experienced adjusters in claims management.
- Meet client expectations in a timely manner.
- Effectively collaborate with service/product replacement providers.
- Uphold client service standards and key performance indicators.
- Ensure compliance with Crawford and client requirements.
