Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Head of Finance, Financial Markets Expert to lead and deliver the financial objectives of our Financial Market business. The successful candidate will monitor all aspects of financial performance and product control to ensure business management and statutory responsibilities are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis
    • Drive the production of timely, accurate, and insightful reports for the Financial Market business, clearly aligning financial performance results against targets and forecasts, highlighting risks and opportunities to enable informed business decisions.
  • Business Partnership and Stakeholder Management
    • Build and maintain strong working relationships with the LOB Managing Director, business leads, and other stakeholders to provide actionable insights and challenge business performance.
  • Commercial Negotiations and Business Cases
    • Prepare and present business cases, engaging in commercial negotiations to ensure all financial considerations are appropriately reflected and business case assumptions are aligned.
  • Risk Management and Financial Control
    • Drive the discussion and resolution of risks and opportunities across the Financial Market business, including productivity agenda.
  • Financial Control Environment
    • Manage the Financial control environment in line with policy.
  • Balance Sheet Management
    • Prudentially manage the Financial Market balance sheet as delegated by the WIB CFO or allocated by WIB ALCO.
  • Investment Spend and Project Benefits
    • Monitor Financial Market annual investment spend, project benefits, and delivery.
  • Operational Management
    • Manage day-to-day operations of processes within the Financial Market value chains to ensure process operational outcomes, productivity targets, and reduction in cost to serve are aligned to risk appetite and comply with all relevant obligations.
  • Prudential Return Management
    • Responsible for the operational management of the Prudential return ARF111 in accordance with Prudential Management Policy and if applicable, any additional requirements set out in the specific Reporting Standard or Return.
Requirements
  • Qualifications and Experience
    • Tertiary qualifications in Commerce or Accounting with over 10 years post-graduate experience.
    • CA/CPA qualification preferred.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Strong understanding of Financial Markets balance sheet and profit & loss drivers and performance metrics.
    • Builds effective relationships and has a demonstrated background in working with others to achieve outcomes.
    • Adaptive influencing and relationship building skills across senior executives and peers.
    • Strong communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and superior attention to detail.
    • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and competing deadlines.
