Job Title: Systems Administrator

 

We are seeking a skilled Systems Administrator to join our team in supporting the Air Component Command and Control Capability System (AC-C2CS). This mission-critical suite of software applications enables the Australian Defence Force (ADF) to effectively plan, prepare, execute, manage, and report on aviation operations.

 

The Role:

  • System Operations & Maintenance: Monitor, maintain, and optimise AC-C2CS infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and reliability across Defence environments.
  • Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Provide responsive support to end users, diagnosing and resolving system issues, and coordinating with engineering teams for escalations.
  • Configuration & Change Control: Manage system configurations and implement approved changes in line with Defence protocols and change management procedures.
  • Security & Compliance: Uphold system security standards, apply patches and updates, and support accreditation and audit activities to meet Defence cybersecurity requirements.
  • Collaboration & Continuous Improvement: Work closely with stakeholders to identify opportunities for system enhancements and contribute to process improvement initiatives.

 

Key Requirements:

  • System Administration Expertise: Strong experience with Windows/Linux servers, virtualisation (e.g., VMware), and networking fundamentals.
  • Cybersecurity & Compliance: Knowledge of Defence security standards, patching, system hardening, and accreditation processes.
  • ITIL & Change Management: Familiarity with incident, problem, and change management processes; ability to maintain accurate documentation.
  • Problem-Solving & Communication: Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to collaborate with stakeholders and technical teams.
