Job Title: Fleet Plant Operations Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fleet/Plant Coordinator to manage the servicing, compliance, and operational readiness of plant and fleet assets on a major transmission project.

This is a key role that requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as a safety-first mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate servicing, maintenance, and breakdowns across the Genus plant fleet ensuring optimal performance and minimizing downtime.
  • Liaise with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and local contractors to schedule support and repairs, maintaining strong relationships and meeting project deadlines.
  • Manage tyre stock and coordinate local tyre fitters, including steer vs drive tyre management, to ensure seamless operations.
  • Set up and induct subcontractor support, such as Fitters, Boilermakers, and Auto Electricians, to augment in-house capabilities.
  • E nsure compliance with safety processes and promote a strong safety culture throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Oversee compliance for classified plant, including quarterly, annual, and electrical inspections, to guarantee adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain and manage industrial winches, such as Redmond Gary and Tesmec, to optimize equipment performance and extend lifespan.
  • Manage Vehicle Loading Cranes (VLCs) across various brands, like Effer, Palfinger, and Hiab, to meet project demands and ensure efficient material handling.
Requirements
  • A trade background or relevant experience preferred, but not essential.
  • A strong understanding of plant compliance and maintenance scheduling is crucial for success in this role.
  • Experience with industrial winches and VLCs is highly desirable, along with excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • A safety-first mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving is vital for this position.
  • The ability to work independently and coordinate multiple stakeholders is essential.
Additional Information
  • The role is based at the Yass workshop compound.
  • Availability during Genus crew off-swings is essential to support maintenance windows.
  • This is a staff position with long-term project involvement.
