
Career Placement Specialist

The role of a Career Development Advisor involves driving inclusive employment outcomes by connecting people with intellectual disability to local job opportunities. This is a front-line, target-driven position that requires combining case management with proactive employer engagement to create sustainable employment matches that benefit both the individual and the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build relationships with local employers through networking, cold calling, and business development.
- Work one-on-one with participants to understand goals, address barriers, and develop employment pathways.
- Match participants to suitable roles and support them through recruitment, placement, and post-placement care.
- Maintain accurate case notes and documentation aligned with contractual and organisational standards.
- Meet performance targets and KPIs related to placements, customer satisfaction, and business development.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience in employment services, recruitment, training, or community services.
- Proven success in a sales or target-driven environment.
- Strong stakeholder and relationship management skills.
- Understanding of employer needs and the local labour market.
- Ability to work independently and in a dispersed team environment.
- Experience working with people with intellectual disability or other support needs (highly regarded).
