Job Details

Thiess Sonoma Mine is seeking an experienced High Voltage Electrician for a permanent full-time position to join our project. As our next Electrical Specialist, reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, you will work collaboratively towards delivering high-quality solutions and results.

In this position, you will be responsible for performing various tasks such as:

  • Performing servicing, repair and maintenance of large-scale mobile mining equipment in accordance with Thiess maintenance systems documentation.
  • Working safely and complying with site safety health and management system.
  • Completing general maintenance, breakdowns, services and component change outs and periodical statutory electrical testing/inspections to a high standard.
  • Source technical information from relevant reference manuals, technical bulletins, OEM and computer-based systems.
  • Conducting required inspections to maximise equipment utilization.
Key Requirements

To be considered for these opportunities, you are required to have:

  • Queensland Electrical Fitter Mechanic Trade Certificate, with post-trade experience in the Mining industry with diesel electric haul trucks, preferably Hitachi AC, Liebherr, Komatsu or Cat.
  • Sound knowledge of AS/NZS 3000 & 3007.
  • Experience in high voltage equipment maintenance.
  • Experience conducting statutory testing on electrical infrastructure.
  • Statement of Attainment for HV Switching.
  • Registered cabler would be an advantage.
