Permanent Electrician Position

Thiess Sonoma Mine is seeking an experienced Electrician for a permanent full-time position to join our project.
As our next High Voltage Electrician, you will work collaboratively to deliver high-quality solutions and results.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
- Performing servicing, repair, and maintenance of large-scale mobile mining equipment according to our maintenance systems documentation.
- Working safely and adhering to site safety, health, and management systems.
- Completing general maintenance, breakdown repairs, services, component change-outs, and statutory electrical testing/inspections to a high standard.
- Sourcing technical information from reference manuals, technical bulletins, OEM, and computer-based systems.
- Conducting inspections to maximize equipment utilization.
To be considered, you should have:
- A Queensland Electrical Fitter Mechanic Trade Certificate with post-trade experience in the mining industry, particularly with diesel electric haul trucks such as Hitachi AC, Liebherr, Komatsu, or Cat.
- Knowledge of AS/NZS 3000 & 3007 standards.
- Experience in high voltage equipment maintenance.
- Experience conducting statutory testing on electrical infrastructure.
- A Statement of Attainment for HV Switching.
- Registered cabler status is advantageous.
