Job Title: Learning Facilitator/Lecturer

As a Learning Facilitator/Lecturer at Torrens University Australia, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality education to our students. Reporting to the Program Director, you will be responsible for preparing, delivering, and assessing subjects as allocated for the Bachelor of Community Services and related courses.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage small or large, blended/hybrid, and online classes, ensuring student participation and engagement.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies to promote student learning and achievement.
  • Validate and review teaching materials, making recommendations as needed to ensure alignment with organisational policies and procedures.
  • Utilise learning technology effectively to enhance subject delivery and student learning outcomes.
  • Engage in student-centred learning and teaching practices, including competency-based learning and assessment, flipped learning, and maintaining a positive education experience.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement best practices in teaching and learning.
Requirements:
  • PhD/Doctoral qualification in Community Services, Social Work, Sociology, Social Policy, or a related field.
  • 5 years of relevant work experience in the Community Services sector, including aged care, disability, correctional services, community development, mental health, and substance misuse.
  • Higher Education teaching experience with a demonstrated ability to deliver Learning & Teaching excellence in face-to-face and online environments.
  • Experience teaching Community Services students is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Australian Community Workers Association (ACWA) requirements and a sound understanding of current scholarship and/or professional practice in the discipline.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and commitment to continuous professional development.
