Disability Support Specialist

A challenging opportunity exists for a highly skilled and motivated Disability Support Specialist to join Alfred Health Allied Health Directorate.
About the RoleThe successful applicant will be responsible for delivering clinical services to people with disability at Alfred Health. They will contribute to leadership of the Disability Liaison Officer Service and provide clinical supervision and support to Grade 2 DLOs in both inpatient settings, outpatient settings, and the Emergency & Trauma Centre (ET&C) teams.
The Disability Liaison Officer Grade 3 will identify and manage quality improvement and service development activities, and provide operational leadership to the team as directed.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver clinical services to people with disability at Alfred Health.
- Contribute to leadership of the Disability Liaison Officer Service.
- Provide clinical supervision and support to Grade 2 DLOs.
- Qualifications in nursing or an allied health discipline are desirable, but not essential.
- Applicants with lived experience of disability will be highly regarded.
- Well-developed leadership skills, including in areas of continuous improvement, change implementation, and staff supervision.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills – written and verbal.
- Knowledge and at least 5 years' experience in supporting people with disabilities in health, disability and/or education settings.
- An annual salary range of $$88,944 - $114,747, plus superannuation, paid annual leave and access to salary packaging benefits.
