Facilities Maintenance Specialist

This role involves the safe and efficient management of infrastructure, plant, and equipment within a hospital environment. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring maintenance tasks are completed to a satisfactory standard and in a timely manner
  • Carrying out emergency procedures according to established policy
  • Conducting inspections of building services, plant, and equipment to identify any potential issues
  • Raising work requests as necessary
  • Closing works orders upon completion
  • Preparing scopes of work and obtaining quotations for required tasks
  • Providing first-line response to urgent requests and breakdowns
  • Responsibility for completing permits for risk work as required
  • Liaising with facilities administrators to procure necessary spares and materials, ensuring an adequate stock level to minimize equipment downtime
  • Performing audits on plant and equipment as instructed
Requirements:
  • Qualified trades assistant or equivalent experience in a facilities maintenance capacity
  • At least 5 years' working experience in a facilities maintenance environment
  • Able to prioritize and utilize available resources to achieve service delivery
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Technology One Maintenance System is highly desirable
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe environment for patients and staff
