Faculty Coordinator - Supported Learning

Casuarina Senior College, a centre of excellence in the medical and health sciences and STEM areas, seeks a dedicated professional to coordinate and oversee the provision of education outcomes for students with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead staff in providing pedagogical and curriculum expertise to maximise student engagement, retention, and achievement for students with disabilities.
  • Coordinate resources and manage staff attached to the supported learning team to optimise learning outcomes for students with a disability.
  • Provide leadership for teacher professional practice in relation to working with students with disabilities and managing student special provisions.
  • Undertake a teaching load and contribute to whole school decision making, planning, and revision of procedures.

Selection Criteria:

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of National and DoE policies and procedures relating to students with a disability in education.
  • Proven ability to work with stakeholders to develop plans to ensure the needs of students with disabilities are met.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide pedagogical and curriculum solutions to maximise student welfare, engagement, retention, and achievement.
  • Proven ability to manage staff, recruitment, and professional development, and provide coaching or mentoring in curriculum, pedagogy, assessment, and student data.

Requirements:

  • Registration with the teacher registration board of the Northern Territory.
  • A current working with children notice (Ochre card) from SAFE NT.
