About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Academic Lecturer/Senior Academic Lecturer Social Work to join our team at Charles Darwin University. As a key member of our faculty, you will play a critical role in building the teaching and research profile of social work and contributing to the social work (and related) programs across the University.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and teach units, utilizing both on-campus and flexible modes of teaching and learning support, to provide an engaging learning experience that fosters student retention and outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development of appropriate programs to develop subjects and learning materials for online and hybrid delivery.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve academic and research goals, including participating in staff meetings, discipline, and university committees.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with industry partners, community organizations, and other stakeholders to enhance the University's reputation and contribute to the growth of the profession in the region.
  • Embody the University's values and commitment to the principles of reconciliation, which exemplify respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage and the valuing of justice and equity for all Australians.

Requirements

  • Possession of a degree in Social Work and current membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers.
  • Practice experience in providing social work services, including supervision relevant to the units within the Social Work program.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently as part of a team, with strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, and well-developed time management and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in education, clinical practice, and postgraduate teaching qualifications or a demonstrated interest and desire to obtain postgraduate teaching qualifications.
  • Ability to forge strong collaborative links and contribute to the growth of the profession in the region.
  • Willingness to embrace the knowledge, skills, and ideals of clinical practice in rural and remote areas.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the University values and commitment to the principles of reconciliation.

What We Offer

  • A competitive salary package, including a base salary in the range of $110,500 to $153,889 per annum, and a total remuneration package in the range of $129,285 to $180,050 per annum, including 17% superannuation.
  • A comprehensive benefits package, including up to six weeks of paid annual leave, up to 26 weeks of paid parental leave, and recognition of prior service with another Australian university or NT Government for Long Service Leave.
