About the RoleThis Lead Electrical Engineer position involves working on various projects across multiple sectors, including Industrial, Water, Renewables, Power Utilities, Substations, Solar, Defence, and Hydrogen. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in HV/LV System Design, with a strong background in industrial electrical substations, earthing, protection, power system studies using software, and cable sizing.
Key Responsibilities- Designing and developing high voltage electrical systems, including earthing and protection schemes.
- Leading projects from concept to completion, overseeing the development and preparation of engineering documents, specifications, and drawings.
- Producing engineering calculations to support design documentation and specifying/selecting electrical equipment.
- Applying relevant Australian Standards (AS/NZS 3000, AS2067, AS/NZS 3008, AS1768, etc.) and statutory regulations in design practices.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- An Engineers Australia recognised tertiary electrical engineering qualification.
- 15-20 years of experience with a minimum of 10 years in High & Low Voltage (HV & LV) Design.
- Excellent communication skills, adept at engaging with diverse stakeholders and working collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong leadership abilities with a passion for mentoring junior engineers and driving engineering project success.
- Current RPEQ/CPEng certification, or the eligibility and willingness to obtain these.
