About the Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to join ASC as a Strategic Project Manager for the SSN AUKUS program, where you will play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of this complex project.

Job Description
  • You will be responsible for developing and implementing a project controls approach tailored for the Australian Shipbuilder during the Mobilisation and Build phases.
  • Implement Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and Integrated Scheduling system for internal and external reporting.
  • Manage Program Control Analysts and Schedulers, ensuring consistent schedule and cost control.
  • Ensure data consistency between ASC's corporate systems and assist project teams with initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain key metrics to track SSN AUKUS performance.
  • Train staff on scheduling and EVMS tools, ensuring compliance with contractual and corporate requirements.

The ideal candidate will have a tertiary qualification in Project Management, Commerce/Economics, Engineering, or equivalent experience. They will also possess 10 to 15+ years' experience within Project Controls, Cost Control, Cost Estimating, Project Accounting, or Project Planning/Scheduling.

Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in Project Management, Commerce/Economics, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 10 to 15+ years' experience within Project Controls, Cost Control, Cost Estimating, Project Accounting, or Project Planning/Scheduling.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate the effective implementation and execution of standard practice of Earned Value Management.
  • Demonstrated experience with training and mentoring staff to consistently and effectively apply the discipline of Earned Value Management using an EVMS tool.
  • Demonstrated competency in interpretation of contractual terms and conditions and facilitation of the delivery of periodic deliverables in accordance with contractual reporting requirements.
  • A detailed understanding of PMBOK categories.
  • Advanced skills and understanding of COBRA, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Power BI.
  • Primavera P6 Professional Fundamentals, or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, effective written and oral communication, stakeholder engagement, attention to detail, and ability to train team members.
