About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our cardiovascular research network. As the Victorian Cardiovascular Research Network Lead, you will be responsible for driving day-to-day operations and supporting the growth of the network in Victoria.

In this role, you will work closely with external stakeholders and internal teams to implement strategic goals. You will coordinate key events, manage secretariat functions, and build connections with researchers, funding bodies, health networks, and government agencies.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Event Coordination

You will lead the coordination of high-profile CVRN events and capacity-building workshops for researchers.

Secretariat Support

Provide secretariat support to the CVRN Executive Committee, including minute-taking, managing action items, and reporting.

Social Media and Communications

Support social media and communications to promote cardiovascular research in Victoria.

Relationship Building

Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders across research, health, and government sectors.

Collaboration and Funding

Identify collaboration and funding opportunities that benefit the network's stakeholders.

Representation

Represent the Network at external meetings and forums to further our mission.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the health and medical research environment in Victoria and Australia, including research funding schemes and collaborative networks.
  • Experience in planning and delivering research, capacity building and/or networking events.
  • The ability to manage projects, have strong organisational and administrative skills and work proactively and autonomously.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain positive and effective working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, work with and manage diverse committees.
  • Proven collaboration and high-level negotiation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for audiences ranging from government, researchers, executives, donors, and general community.
