Job Overview

Mater Dei College is seeking a highly skilled and organized Financial Administrator to join our Administrative Department. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient management of family fees.

About the Role

This permanent position commences January 2025 and offers a competitive salary of $65,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience. As a Finance Officer (Accounts Receivable), you will be responsible for facilitating the end-to-end administration of family fees, including invoicing, receipting, and periodic payments. You will also coordinate debt management procedures to enhance efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary contact for families and caregivers concerning school fee inquiries and accounts, maintaining consistent communication through phone, email, and mail to ensure prompt payment or arrangement of payment plans;
  • Oversee the fee collection processes, including follow-ups, collaborating with families experiencing financial difficulties, handling changes to fee payments, and updates to banking details;
  • Continuously evaluate and implement improvements in debt management procedures;
  • Prepare and distribute annual fee statements at the start of each year and for newly enrolled students throughout the year;

Selection Criteria

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate high-level organisational and time management skills, supporting the Catholic ethos and values of the College. They will also show the ability to multitask, actively listen, maintain attention to detail, stay calm under pressure, and demonstrate proficiency in office software.

Requirements

  • Hold a current Working with Children Check;
  • Hold a current National Police Clearance from the Department of Education;
  • Hold or be working towards an Accreditation to Work in a Catholic School;
  • Annually complete the online Child Protection Procedures and Mandatory Reporting Training and any other CEWA mandatory training;
