Job Title: Data Officer

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled professional to support the setup, management, and quality control of data for a large-scale research clinical trial involving 6000+ students.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Design, build, test, and maintain data collection instruments in REDCap.
  • Manage the flow of study data, including exports, imports, and updates.
  • Develop and implement data cleaning protocols to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Provide technical support to schools during scheduled data collection.
  • Monitor data quality and perform routine audits and validations.
  • Collaborate with research staff to ensure compliance with study protocols and data governance requirements.
  • Prepare clean, well-documented datasets for analysis.
  • Maintain detailed records of data collection activities, school participation, and any data issues encountered.
  • Assist in preparing data reports for internal tracking and safety monitoring, or reporting to stakeholders and the data safety board.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor degree (or higher) in Public Health, Data Science, Psychology, Health Informatics, or a related field.
  • Hands on experience with relational Research Data Management Systems, preferably REDCap or similar, including queries, data formatting, importing, and processing.
  • Demonstrated proficient skills in MS Excel and at least one data analysis tool (e.g., R, Stata, Python).
  • Experience working in a research environment and familiarity with national ethical and university data privacy standards of research trials.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and experience with large and longitudinal data sets.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving ability.
