About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Risk and Compliance Manager to join our team at Colonial First State. As a key member of our Technology Line 1 Risk Team, you will play a critical role in supporting the Wrap business and contributing to the CFS Wrap Technology Extended Management Team.

Your Responsibilities

  • Drive a positive risk culture across our stakeholders, maintaining strong professional expertise in risk management approaches.
  • Assess Technology, Cyber, and Data risks and controls, reporting key themes in line with the CFS Risk Management Framework.
  • Gather and analyse risk reports, identifying and understanding risks, and managing the remediation of issues and incidents.
  • Undertake reviews of control testing to ensure controls are effectively managing risks and applicable compliance obligations.
  • Ensure effective design of controls for all new and changing processes through the Change Risk and Compliance Framework.
  • Represent Technology Risk on the Wrap Transformation Program, leading Technology Control Self-Assessment, change impact assessments, and providing technology risk advice.
  • Assist with Supplier Risk Assessments, including Technology Risk Assessments and monitoring of Supplier Technology and Cyber processes.
  • Ensure risk data and information is up to date and accurate in the Risk Management System, providing regular reporting to stakeholders.
  • Prepare information packs for monthly forums to ensure stakeholders understand and manage risks within CFS Technology.
  • Provide technology risk advice to the Business on procedural and risk management issues, identifying emerging trends from a risk perspective.

Your Capability and Experience

  • 2+ years working in the Financial Services industry.
  • 4+ years' experience in Technology Risk management.
  • Advanced understanding and knowledge of the risk and control environment and framework, with proven experience with operational and compliance risks.
  • Autonomous and able to escalate issues where appropriate.
  • Ability to support and manage a large and varied stakeholder group at all levels of seniority across Business Units.
  • Advanced understanding and implementation of Risk Management Frameworks, Controls, and a sound grasp on Agile Delivery/New Ways of Working.
  • Understanding of risk management frameworks and relevant certifications (e.g. Basel II, GS, AS, COBIT, SOC2).
  • Ability to analyse trends, identify critical threats and opportunities, diagnose problems and issues, and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Passion for technology and technology risk, remaining up to date on the latest emerging industry trends.
  • Understanding of ITIL Service Management processes.
  • Expert advisory capability.
  • Domain knowledge of a Technology Risk Engagement and Advisory practices, ideally demonstrated experience leading a function of Risk advisors for Financial Services.
  • Proven ability to drive transformational change.
  • Proven ability to negotiate commercial outcomes with external stakeholder groups.
  • Knowledge of industry and global operations best practices.
  • Ability to interpret complex subjects to recommend simple choices.
  • Deliver simplified and standardised processes.
  • Familiarity with APRA standards.
