Key Job Role

The Community Engagement Lead will be pivotal in creating and sustaining a pool of potential participants for the organization. This involves developing and maintaining relationships with existing partners within the disability sector to raise the profile of the organization within the community.

This includes responding to inquiries from potential referrers and new participants, managing participant recruitment, and understanding participants' overall NDIS budget and coordination of Schedule of Supports.

The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills, empathy, and a high level of approachability. They will also have a current understanding and network within the disability sector, as well as an understanding of the NDIS and experience working with people with disability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and develop a pipeline of prospective participants for the organization
  • Build and foster strong relationships within the local community and with a local referral network
  • Manage participant recruitment, including initial tours, trial days, intake procedures/documentation, and introduction to the co-working space
  • Coordinate NDIS plan reviews, including provision of documentation
  • Provide proactive support for participants with NDIS plan reviews
Requirements:
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (social/community services/allied health) and/or 2+ years recent experience in a customer-centric position within the disability sector
  • Operational, customer service and/or administrative business experience
  • Possess the right to work in Australia
  • Possess or be willing to obtain an NDIS Worker Screening Check, Provide First Aid (HLTAID003), and Working With Children Check
  • Be available and willing to work at events on weekends and evenings on occasion
