Strategic Portfolio Leader

About The Role
Tasmania's largest electricity distributor is seeking a strategic leader to guide our non-network portfolio and shape business outcomes. This is a unique opportunity to work across digital, innovation, strategic projects, and corporate business services, ensuring we deliver the right work at the right time to meet customer and shareholder expectations.

You will lead a small, diverse team of specialists and analysts that help portfolio leaders around the business to plan, deliver and monitor a significant program of work. As the Strategic Portfolio Leader, You'll:

  • Oversee and continuously improve Tasmanian project portfolio
  • Manage enterprise portfolio services, including the enterprise value and prioritisation framework
  • Work with key portfolio leaders to build and maintain a prioritised rolling 5-year program plan for the non-network portfolio
  • Align budgets, regulatory allowance, and capacity planning to the program of work to achieve long-term business objectives
  • Monitor portfolio health and address risks, gaps and improvement opportunities
  • Provide insights and advice to senior leaders on planning and prioritisation and support investment decisions with clear, data-driven advice aligned to strategy
  • Drive collaboration across the business for aligned delivery

About You
We're looking for a strategic thinker and collaborative leader who can bring structure, transparency and alignment to a dynamic and diverse portfolio. To thrive in this role, you'll have:

  • A proven ability to influence and build effective relationships with senior stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of program and project lifecycle management and enterprise governance
  • Experience leading through others, rather than owning individual projects directly
  • Confidence to challenge constructively and work cross-functionally to solve problems
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse technical and non-technical audiences
  • A collaborative approach to leadership with the ability to uplift capability across your team and the business
