About This Role

This is a dynamic position within our organization, focused on ensuring compliance and mitigating risks in employment and industrial relations.

As a trusted advisor, you will partner with leaders to interpret legislation and navigate complex workforce challenges effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • SUPPORT LEGISLATIVE IMPLEMENTATION: Assist in the execution of new employment and industrial relations laws.
  • ENSURE LEGAL COMPLIANCE: Guarantee that enterprise practices align with relevant regulations.
  • RISK MANAGEMENT: Proactively identify, advise on, and manage potential compliance risks.
  • STRATEGIC ADVICE: Provide clear guidance on employment and industrial relations matters.
  • LITIGATION SUPPORT: Offer advice and representation in employment/IR disputes.
  • DISPUTE RESOLUTION: Support the resolution of conflicts while balancing operational, commercial, and reputational risks.
  • PAYROLL COMPLIANCE: Mitigate underpayment risks and ensure accurate payroll processes.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of post-admission experience as a qualified lawyer.
  • Strong knowledge of employment and industrial relations law.
  • Demonstrable understanding of legal principles and judicial procedures.
  • Proven experience in commercial negotiations and providing strategic legal advice.
  • Commercial mindset with experience in change management.
  • Experience with payroll systems and compliance.
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams.
