Employment Relations & Safety Team

The Brisbane ERS team is a small team working closely with all partners, alongside a similarly sized Sydney team. The group advises across the full spectrum of workplace relations and industrial law, from front-end advisory to back-end disputes. Matters span strategic employment advice, industrial relations, enterprise bargaining, discrimination, workplace investigations, and employment litigation in courts and tribunals. The practice offers a supportive and collaborative environment, with strong mentoring, client contact, and career development opportunities.

Position Description

In this role, you will:

• Advise private and public sector clients on employment and industrial relations matters, including compliance, enterprise bargaining, workplace change, and dispute management
• Draft and review employment contracts, policies, and workplace documentation
• Represent clients in courts, tribunals, and commissions on employment and industrial disputes
• Provide strategic advice to minimise risk and resolve workplace claims
• Work closely with partners and colleagues in Brisbane and Sydney, delivering innovative and practical solutions
• Build and strengthen client relationships, contributing to the team's ongoing growth and reputation

Key Requirements

You will be a Lawyer or Senior Lawyer with:

• 4–7 years' PAE in employment relations, workplace relations, or industrial relations law
• Experience providing front-end workplace relations advice and conducting back-end litigation
• Familiarity with federal and/or state industrial relations frameworks; experience with government clients is highly regarded
• Strong drafting, communication, and advocacy skills
• A proactive and commercially focused approach to client service
• The ability to manage competing matters and deadlines with professionalism
• A collaborative, team-oriented mindset and genuine passion for employment law
