Job Summary
The EHS Manager oversees compliance with local environmental, health, and safety regulations to ensure employee and contractor safety. This role minimizes the company's environmental footprint and manages site risks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Corporate EHS Policy (15%): Collaborate with managers to implement Global EHS Policies in the plant. Work closely with EHS cluster leaders and BU EHS leaders for specific tasks and requirements.
- EHS System Management (70%): Ensure country-specific EHS regulation compliance. Foster a safety culture through mutual cooperation and events. Provide ongoing safety guidance and communication opportunities to new employees. Maintain the EHS system (ISO 14K, ISO 45K, MOC) and optimize its effectiveness and efficiency in the plant. Lead the implementation of 6S principles. Drive continuous improvement in all areas of EHS. Develop and mentor Safety Representatives to manage their areas effectively.
- Sustainability (5%): Monitor and analyze energy consumption and waste generation. Educate the team through training and events. Pursue continuous improvement in sustainability.
- Supportive Functions (10%): Liaise and coordinate with relevant regulatory bodies. Perform ad-hoc tasks from Corporate or Plant Managers.
Requirements:
- Degree or equivalent experience in Chemical Engineering or Environment, Occupational Health & Safety Management.
- WSQ Specialist Diploma in workplace safety and health or equivalent.
- Registered 'WSHO' (Workplace Safety and health officer) with 'MOM' (Ministry of Manpower).
- Registered 'FSM' (Fire Safety Manager) with 'SCDF' (Singapore Civil Defense Force).
- Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in EHS programs delivery and integrated management system.
- Certificate in ISO 14K and 45K internal auditor.
- Certificate in 'PSM' (Process Safety Management) related training.
- Proactive, analytical skills and meticulous problem-solving ability.
- Ability to communicate and work closely with key stakeholders in driving EHS programs.
- Sound working knowledge relating to local EHS legislations and an industrial/manufacturing environment.
