Sustainability Strategist

A unique opportunity exists to lead sustainability initiatives for a forward-thinking organization based in Australia. With a strong focus on environmental stewardship and social responsibility, the role plays a pivotal part in driving positive change.
The position reports directly to a senior leader with expertise in sustainability and public affairs, offering guidance and mentorship as a recognized authority in the field. The organization operates at the intersection of fashion and medical devices, presenting a diverse and complex sustainability context.
As a key member of the team, you will work across three key areas: Circular Design, Climate, and Ethical Sourcing. You will be responsible for monitoring and managing compliance to various standards, ensuring new facilities are audited, renewals are processed, and opportunities for improved sustainability outcomes are identified and leveraged.
Your focus will be on achieving a balance between detailed work, risk mitigation, and compliance obligations, while also embracing a broad perspective. You will be required to synthesize information from disparate sources under the umbrella of Sustainability, identifying associated impacts and opportunities.
We seek an individual with experience holding a sustainability specialist role, preferably within textiles. While sector experience is beneficial, a strong thirst for knowledge, natural curiosity, and attention to detail are essential qualities for success.
