Job Title: Net Zero Strategist

We are seeking a Net Zero Strategist to join our business decarbonisation initiative. The initiative aims to support NSW businesses in strategically planning for net zero, metering and monitoring their energy usage, and taking other practical steps towards a sustainable future.

  • You will work closely with a small team to design and deliver the strategic planning for net zero within the initiative.
  • You will develop and implement net zero guidance, design and launch new offers, and identify opportunities to extend the reach and impact of the initiative.
  • You will collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders to achieve the best outcomes for our initiative participants.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' experience in net zero consulting, reporting, and/or accounting, Environmental Social and Governance (ESG). They will also possess project management skills, strong communication skills, and the ability to communicate complex topics to stakeholders with differing levels of technical understanding.

About You:

  • A degree in environmental engineering, science, sustainability management or similar is required.
  • You must have experience in developing net zero plans and sustainability reports, as well as managing grant programs.

The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water works to protect the state's environment and heritage, leading the way on climate change and driving the transition to a sustainable economy powered by clean energy.
