Role Overview

Leverage your legal expertise to lead strategic reform in the fight against modern slavery. As a senior legal and policy officer, you will be responsible for overseeing the Business and Human Rights / Legal team within the Office of the Australian Safety Commissioner.

This role requires high-level legal and policy advice to combat modern slavery in NSW. You will work closely with public entities to support compliance and implement the Commissioner's guidance.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of high-level legal and policy advice to combat modern slavery in NSW.
  • Support the Commissioner in fulfilling statutory functions under the Modern Slavery Act 2018 (NSW).

Requirements

  • Legal qualifications with a current unrestricted NSW practising certificate.
  • Experience in business and human rights or modern slavery.
  • Exceptional legal and/or policy analysis and drafting skills.
