Our Carer Support Specialist is the initial point of contact for carers, identifying their needs and linking them to vital services including respite care and domestic assistance. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring carers have access to the support they need to maintain their wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with carers to develop a comprehensive Carer Action Plan outlining the supports they can access.
  • Assist carers in accessing urgent support when needed.
  • Coordinate necessary referrals for carers, streamlining service coordination and referral pathways.
  • Engage with community care sectors and the public at regional events and activities, raising awareness about the program and its importance.

The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, be able to undertake complex telephone assessments, and obtain accurate information. They will also have knowledge of the community sector, including the complex challenges faced by carers.

Requirements for Success
  • Qualifications and training in Community Services/Health/Welfare/Social Services and/or Education fields or relevant industry experience.
  • Ability to facilitate service coordination and referral pathways for carers.
  • Current NSW Driver's License, essential for this role.
  • Background checks, including national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, prior to commencing employment.
