
Carer Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Carer Support Specialist to join our team. As a specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting carers by increasing staff capacity for carer-inclusive practice, aligning the mental health service with carer needs, and working in partnership with carers to provide co-production, consultation, and service provision.
- Key Responsibilities:
- - Develop and implement peer-led interventions to support carers
- - Provide education and training to clinical staff on carer-inclusive practice
- - Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external providers to build effective relationships
- - Demonstrate excellent negotiation, time management, and communication skills
Requirements:
- - Personal experience of caring for someone experiencing mental distress
- - Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
- - Current NSW driver's license and Australian citizenship or permanent residency
Preferred Qualifications:
- - Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field
- - Previous experience working in a mental health setting
