The Role

The Lead Data Quality Specialist role is critical in maintaining high data standards and enabling the delivery of our Data and Analytics strategy. The successful candidate will develop, implement, and manage data governance policies, procedures, and standards to ensure data quality, security, and compliance across various domains and business data.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor and correct master data inconsistencies within our systems, using data knowledge to build and run reports to ensure data integrity and provide reporting where standard reports cannot meet business needs.
  2. Provide advanced thought processes on the flow of information and how it ties back to our business applications.
  3. Understand and answer complex questions related to data structures and governance while maintaining positive stakeholder experiences.
  4. Analyse, research, and resolve complex data matching issues of a broad scope using independent judgment.
  5. Gather data by establishing strong working relationships with internal and external customers, and colleagues to collect necessary information for the above tasks.
  6. Ability to research and offer resolution to processing issues that demonstrate competence in system navigation and processes to assist in testing new processes.
  7. Collaborate with functional teams, both locally and globally, to ensure project success and meet short and long-term goals and needs.
  8. Support stakeholder SLA's and work to provide KPI's. Ensure dashboards are up to date and are reflective of the work completed.
  9. Execute on the data strategy aligned with organisational goals and objectives, including determining critical data elements and prioritising accordingly, driving data ownership, a process for escalation and prioritisation and setting & enforcing standards.
  10. Implement a data quality methodology, including assessing data quality, with criticality in mind, implementing and driving strong data quality metrics.
  11. Create and maintain tools to demonstrate that data quality is meeting requirements. Develop and maintain data dashboards and reports to monitor data quality, governance, and compliance metrics, providing regular updates to senior leadership.
  12. Oversee data quality initiatives, including data profiling for criticality, cleansing, and enrichment, to maintain high-quality data across all systems and databases.
  13. Embed data certification, and a robust issue resolution process, prioritising on business criticality.
  14. Work with data stewards to ensure correction of data.
  15. Ensure robust approval process for new records, acting as a step in the approval process.
  16. Monitor Transportation Management Master Data set up and ensure completeness.
  17. Collaborate with various departments to understand their data needs and ensure data is leveraged effectively to support decision-making and business processes.

Requirements:

  1. Understanding of the medical equipment industry, hospital systems, and procedures.
  2. Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams at all organisational levels.
  3. Demonstrated stakeholder management and change management skills.
  4. Business process improvement capability and ability to contribute to and implement systematic change.
  5. Strong analytical aptitude with proven ability to analyse/interpret data and provide insight to other departments.
  6. Strong knowledge of data regulations and compliance requirements.
