Job Description:
Sustainability and AssetsWe are seeking a skilled professional to lead our Buildings Design and Delivery team. As part of our department realignment, we aim to centralize specialist capital work project delivery expertise and optimize resources to meet the evolving needs of our community and Council.
The successful candidate will play an integral role in shaping and delivering high-quality building infrastructure for the community. Key responsibilities include:
- Contract Management & Compliance: Administer contracts, monitor financial performance, and ensure compliance with legislative and procurement requirements.
- Project Development & Delivery: Lead the execution of capital works projects, ensuring alignment with project governance frameworks and financial policies.
- Stakeholder & Contractor Engagement: Facilitate meetings, briefings, and collaborations with contractors and stakeholders to ensure project milestones and community needs are met.
- Reporting & Analysis: Prepare reports on project feasibility, funding, progress, and capital expenditure to support decision-making.
- Strategic Planning & Partnerships: Develop partnerships with government and external organizations, oversee building compliance matters, and contribute to capital works planning.
- Leadership: Lead and support a team of professionals, as well as manage contractors.
About You
We are looking for an experienced leader with expertise in building project development, planning, and contract management. The successful candidate will excel in delivering high-quality building design projects and developing proactive and practical management systems.
The following is also required:
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Project Management or relevant discipline with several years' experience OR lesser formal qualification with extensive experience.
- Substantial experience delivering and providing specialist advice for building project development, planning, and management.
- Experience in contract management and leading tendering processes.
- Significant experience in managing staff and/or contractors.
