Role DescriptionWe're looking for a Senior Project Manager to oversee the delivery of a major construction project, with a contract in excess of $400m. This is a highly technical project, that will be truly career-defining for the successful candidate. Working with a respected client, this opportunity has the potential to catapult your career ahead of your peers. With strong performance, we see this role further evolving into a Project Director position. Located in our Melbourne office, you'll be responsible for:
- Managing any re-design requirements throughout construction phase.
- Overseeing contract administration, variations and claims.
- Engaging with contractors and consultants.
- Managing the technical construction/delivery phase of the project.
- Fostering relationships with key stakeholders, providing regular updates and reports as required.
- Managing the staging of construction deliverables, with all impacted stakeholders.
To be successful in this role, you'll need demonstrated experience managing large-scale construction projects, ideally within a Consultancy or Contractor. You could either be a Project Manager looking to take your first steps into a Senior Project Management position, or an established Senior Project Manager already. This role will suit someone with outstanding communication and stakeholder skills – skills that'll be used to enable the smooth delivery of a complex piece of work. You'll also need:
- The ability to understand the big picture of what the client is trying to achieve with their project – the reason for the project is critical to the success of the business.
- Strong communication skills and an ability to build rapport with stakeholders. Your soft skills, attitude and aptitude will be crucial to success in this role.
- High attention to detail and a customer-focused mindset.
- Experience with construction phases of complex projects, in sectors such as Industrial, Health, Retail, Pharmaceutical, Manufacturing/Processing, Data Centres or related areas. Automation experience is highly regarded.
- A willingness to work with team members and deliver outstanding outcomes for clients.
- Qualifications in Project Management, Construction, Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Ability to travel across metro Melbourne.
