The Opportunity

As a business development specialist, you will be responsible for qualifying inbound opportunities, selling Afterpay to these businesses, and ensuring best practices are adopted. You will gain insight into the unique requirements of diverse SMBs and serve as an expert, showcasing the value that Afterpay can provide.

This is a fantastic opportunity to build relationships with prospective SMB merchants through both inbound and outbound business development. If you are a confident and engaging communicator motivated by new challenges and learning new skills, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inbound lead management to generate new opportunities
  • Outbound sourcing to identify new SMB opportunities
  • Sell the Afterpay product to business owners
  • Follow sales and onboarding processes accurately to maximise yearly sales volumes
  • Identify relevant new business opportunities, while highlighting Afterpay's value proposition
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of Afterpay, retail industry trends, and our competition
  • Manage, track, and report on all sales activities and results using Salesforce
You have:
  • A passion for delivering positive outcomes for customers and shaping the future of Afterpay
  • Experience in high-volume calling and business development
  • Familiarity with tools such as Salesforce or Aircall
  • The ability to manage your sales pipeline, interpret data to support merchant conversations, and meet sales metrics and targets
  • No previous retail or payments industry experience necessary
  • A commitment to being proactive, adaptable, and results-driven in this role
