About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Parent Mentor to join our team at Workskil Australia Ltd. As a Senior Parent Mentor, you will play a vital role in supporting parents and guardians of young children to build skills, confidence, and prepare for the workforce.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide person-centred case management for eligible parents with young children to assist them to achieve their education and employment goals.
  • Address vocational and non-vocational needs.
  • Support parents' aspirations through tailored expertise and referring parents to internal and external services for further support where required.
  • Engage with community organisations to develop strong opportunities.
  • Provide a calm, respectful, welcoming, and child-friendly service to maintain engagement.
  • Practice an empathetic approach towards parents and their circumstances to help build trusted relationships to achieve positive outcomes.
Requirements
  • Empathy and understanding of parents experiencing disadvantage, trauma, and financial distress.
  • Ability to effectively work with a culturally diverse range of parents, employers, education, and community service providers and staff.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Strong Labour Market knowledge.
  • A minimum Diploma level qualification in a relevant field such as (but not limited to) Social Work, Community Services, Employment Services, Education, or Early Childhood Education and Care, Health, or Society and Culture.
