We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Student Support and Wellbeing Advisor to join our Student Services and Wellbeing team at Queensland University of Technology (QUT).
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality professional services to international and domestic students addressing issues that directly impact on student wellbeing and success.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support student wellbeing and success at all points of the student lifecycle.
- Develop and deliver workshops, preventative programs, educational materials, activities, and events to support student wellbeing and success.
- Provide brief intervention, risk assessment, crisis response, and critical case management services to students.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to promote student wellbeing and success.
- Education, training, and/or relevant experience equivalent to completion of a degree in Social Work, with at least four (4) years' relevant experience.
- Demonstrated experience in the provision of welfare and wellbeing services to a diverse population.
- Proven understanding of student transition and acculturation, financial, academic, and personal issues, as well as relevant legislation and guidelines.
- Demonstrated high-level organisational skills with the ability to problem-solve and use critical thinking while managing competing demands.
- Sound professional practice in confidentiality, records management, boundaries, and supervision.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team and with internal and external stakeholders.
