We are seeking an experienced editor to join our team at the New South Wales Parliament. As a Hansard Senior Subeditor, you will be responsible for overseeing the transcription of parliamentary debates and ensuring the accuracy of the record.

About the Role

The Hansard Senior Subeditor is a key member of the Hansard management team, working closely with the Editor of Debates to ensure the smooth operation of Hansard operations in the Legislative Assembly and parliamentary committees.

As a senior subeditor, you will be responsible for supervising a team of subeditors, undertaking procedural functions, and providing training and administrative support as required.

You will have a strong attention to detail, excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, and a proven ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a Hansard role or equivalent;
  • Supervisor/management experience in an editorial context;
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills;
  • Excellent attention to detail;
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English comprehension;
  • Reliability, organisation, punctuality, and a willingness to work long and irregular hours;
  • A strong interest in current affairs; and
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy working as part of a team.

Benefits

This is an ongoing position with specific leave and work time arrangements. The salary for this role is $159,517 per annum, plus employers' contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.

Total salary inclusive of an All Incidence Allowance of $20,354.
