Editorial Leader for NSW Parliament Transcripts

About the Position
The Hansard Senior Subeditor is a key member of the Hansard management team, responsible for overseeing Hansard operations in the Legislative Assembly and parliamentary committees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and edit the transcription of both Subeditors and Reporters to ensure an accurate record of literary quality.
- Undertake procedural, training, and administrative functions on behalf of the Editor of Debates.
- Supervise a team of Subeditors and provide guidance and support to ensure high-quality output.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a Hansard role or equivalent.
- Proven supervisor/management experience in an editorial context.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and proficiency in spoken and written English comprehension.
- Ability to work long and irregular hours, including evenings and weekends.
- A strong interest in current affairs and ability to thrive under deadlines.
- Experience working in a team environment and willingness to collaborate with colleagues.
What We Offer:
We offer a competitive salary package of $159,517 per annum, plus employers' contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading. You will also have access to ongoing professional development opportunities and a supportive team environment.
This is an ongoing position with specific leave and work time arrangements. The role is based in Sydney CBD and requires regular attendance at Parliament House.
