Role Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated support worker to provide practical and emotional support to individuals struggling with addiction, and facilitate their participation in rehabilitation programs.

This role is based in Victoria, Australia, and involves working with program managers and staff to continually improve the holistic integrated residential program.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing knowledge of lifestyle pressures faced by disadvantaged people in the community, and implementing communication strategies tailored to individual needs
  • Demonstrating expertise in the Alcohol and Other Drugs sector, including roles, regulations, and legislation
  • Conducting scheduled and random breathalyser/urine screening, and transporting participants back to units as required
  • Facilitating group sessions, collecting feedback, and recording attendance
  • Working collaboratively with program managers and staff to enhance the AOD services system review

Requirements:

  • Relevant degree qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Addiction Counselling, or related discipline
  • Certificate IV in Community Services or equivalent (minimum), Diploma preferred
  • Significant experience in a social service environment, particularly in the AOD sector
  • Current Certification in First Aid (HLTAID001) and CPR (HLTAID009)
