The role of a Claims Officer is crucial in managing complex claims and ensuring quality customer service. Key responsibilities include the efficient management of the claims process, interpreting policy coverage, and establishing good client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Efficiently manage a portfolio of sensitive claims to ensure timely completion and validation
  • Determine coverage under policy wordings and escalate issues as needed
  • Maintain excellent relationships with clients, brokers, investigators, solicitors, and the public
  • Ensure compliance with relevant statutory guidelines and standards
  • Initiate and complete recoveries from third parties
  • Audit claims files to maintain high-quality internal audits
  • Respond to enquiries in an accurate, professional, and courteous manner
Requirements:
  • Technical expertise in managing Latent & Special Risk claims
  • Understanding of underwriting procedures and policy wordings across diversified liability portfolios
  • Ability to engage and collaborate with external providers like loss adjusters, lawyers, and consultants
  • Knowledge of the General Insurance Code of Practice
  • Strong relationship-building skills with clients and customers, maintaining confidentiality and resilience
