Warrnambool, Victoria, Australia beBeeCare Full time $94,590 - $108,994

Creating a nurturing environment for vulnerable children and young people is a rewarding yet challenging role. As a Therapeutic Residential Care Practitioner, you will be working closely with individuals who have experienced significant trauma.

">

You will provide hands-on therapeutic support, helping children and young people navigate their emotions, build healthy relationships, and develop skills to thrive in life. Supporting connections with family and friends is also a key part of your role, alongside ensuring their rights and wellbeing are always protected.

This role involves active participation in team care planning, supervision, reflective practice, and ongoing professional development, including training in trauma-informed care.

You'll contribute to maintaining a comfortable, safe, and well-organised home environment, from meal planning and preparation to household upkeep, while facilitating opportunities for learning, recreation, and community engagement.

This position requires resilience and the ability to respond calmly and professionally to behaviours that may include aggression and emotional dysregulation.

You'll join a skilled, supportive team that values collaboration, reflective practice, and seeing the potential in every child. This is challenging but also rewarding work.

Key Requirements
  • Prior experience in supporting vulnerable children and young people would be an advantage.
  • Resilience, patience, and the ability to respond to behaviours including aggression and emotional dysregulation.
  • Able to work within a therapeutic team, embracing reflection, supervision, and ongoing professional development.
  • Commitment to child safety, equity, cultural safety, and wellbeing.
  • Physical capability to respond to crisis situations.
Qualifications and Certifications
  • A minimum of a Certificate IV in Child, Youth & Family Intervention or other similar/relevant tertiary qualification.
  • Completion of, or willingness to complete, units of competency related to trauma-informed care.
  • A certification in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) would be highly regarded.
  • First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificates and a current Drivers Licence are also essential.

This role may involve shift work across a 24/7 roster and may include sleepover shifts.
