This role involves providing a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment for children and young people with complex needs, many of whom have experienced significant trauma.
The successful candidate will play a dynamic and rewarding part in delivering care that makes a real difference every day.
You will provide hands-on therapeutic support, helping children and young people navigate challenging emotions, build healthy relationships, and develop skills to thrive in life.
Supporting connections with family, friends, and the wider community is also a key aspect of this role, alongside ensuring their rights and wellbeing are always protected.
The position requires active participation in team care planning, supervision, reflective practice, and ongoing professional development, including trauma-informed training such as TCI, TCI/F, and Power to Kids.
Additionally, you'll contribute to maintaining a comfortable, safe, and well-organised home environment, from meal planning and preparation to household upkeep, while facilitating opportunities for learning, recreation, and community engagement.
Resilience and the ability to respond calmly and professionally to behaviours that may include aggression and emotional dysregulation are essential for success in this role.
A comprehensive overview of day-to-day responsibilities, safety considerations, and OVA risks will be provided during the interview process.
